Delays and Lessons in Patience

Well after a whole lot of rain, wind, confusion, cancelled flights, and waiting time, our guys are finally in the air! PTL for His timing. :) So, the plan is they arrive in Miami in about an hour, and from there they have 2 flights they're going to be coming to Chicago on. 13 of the group will be flying home on the first flight which is scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 5:50 p.m. and 5 of the group will be flying in on the second flight which is scheduled to arrive at 7:50 p.m. A prayer request would be that somehow there would be 5 extra seats on the first flight and the team could just fly home together. They're going to try for that when they get to Miami. :) God can definitely open doors and orchestrate things like this!
I know everyone is anxious to have their brothers/husbands/friends home again but keep in mind, the guys have been learning flexibility for the last 10 days in the very unpredictable country of Haiti. Now God is giving us a chance to learn it as well. ;)
Thanking God for His protection over the group and please continue to pray for strength and opportunities to serve as they head home today!
Lydia- for the group :)

  1. Such good stuff! God has lessons even for us at home to learn through this trip. I love the saying, "God is seldom early, but NEVER late." I just read this in Streams in the Desert, "Christ sometimes delays His help so He may test our faith and energize our prayers. Our boat may be tossed by the waves while He continues to sleep, but He will awake before it sinks. He sleeps but He never oversleeps, for He is never too late." Praise God for HIS perfect timing. Looking forward to seeing our guys. Thanking God for His hand upon them. Loving being a part of this whole team.
